Holy Spirit, Giver of all good gifts, grant me your seven gifts (wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord) and let your twelve fruits ripen in me. amen

Prayer for Depression & Suffering
Father, let this suffering pass from me;
yet not my will but yours be done.
May you be blessed forever
Jesus, Son of God, have mercy on me.
With you I am nailed to the cross.
Let my pains be mingled with yours
for the saving of the world.
Holy Spirit, comforter and consoler,
heal what is ill in me,
strengthen what is weak,
sweeten what is sour or cranky.
Save me from depression and self-pity;
renew my courage;
bring me to pray with Jesus on the cross:
Father, into your hands I commend my spirit.
Amen.

The Prayer of Saint Francis

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy
O Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen.

Prayer for Suffering and Depression

Surround me with your light, Jesus,
and penetrate the very depths of my being with that light.
Let there remain no areas of darkness in me or in my family members,
but transform our whole being with the healing light of your love.
Open me completely to receive your love, Jesus.
Thank you for being our family healer and my personal healer.

Give Us Grace
Lord God, whose blessed Son our Savior gave his body to be whipped and his face to be spit upon:
Give us grace to accept joyfully the sufferings of the present time, confident of the glory that shall be revealed; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Prayer for Lonely People
Loving God,
there are times in each life when there is no one.
No one with whom to share a word,
a laugh,
a sad remembrance,
a gentle touch,
a fond embrace,
a kiss of love.
Bless each me Lord Jesus for I suffer from such loneliness.
Enrich my life with a friend
or gentle stranger
who will spend a moment noticing and loving. In those times
may your love shine through me, and the world is reborn in me
and Christ is known in me.
Amen.

I Cannot Do This Alone
O God, early in the morning I cry to you.
Help me to pray
And to concentrate my thoughts on you:
I cannot do this alone.
In me there is darkness,
But with you there is light;
I am lonely, but you do not leave me;
I am feeble in heart, but with you there is help;
I am restless, but with you there is peace.
In me there is bitterness, but with you there is patience;

Restore me to liberty,
